3. Information We Collect
It matters where information goes, not only what it is. The categories below separate what stays on your device from what reaches a third party.
3.1 Data collected by the developer
The developer of Career Toolkit does not operate a server, does not host user accounts, and does not receive your resumes, documents, photos, signatures or contact details. No usage analytics or crash-reporting SDK is included in the app, so no analytics or diagnostic data is sent to the developer.
3.2 Data processed locally on your device
The app creates and reads the following in storage that is private to the app:
- Resumes, cover letters, CVs and other career documents you create, in a local database on the device.
- Profile photos and signature images you add, copied into the app's private storage.
- App preferences — theme, language, template and colour choices, checklist progress, reminder settings, and the expiry of any reward-based unlock.
- Backup files and exported PDF, image or document files, which are written where you choose to save or share them.
This information is not transmitted to the developer. It stays on the device until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app — except where you yourself export, share or back it up.
3.3 Data automatically collected by third-party services
When advertising is served in the app, Google's advertising SDK may collect information from the device automatically, including the advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from that IP address, device and app information, and interactions with ads. This processing is carried out by Google, not by the developer. See Advertising for the detail and your choices.
3.4 Data you choose to send for AI resume import
The app includes an optional "AI import" step. If you choose to import an existing resume file and that step runs, the text extracted from that file is sent to the Google Gemini API so it can be structured into resume fields. The file itself is not uploaded — only the extracted text. This happens only for imports you start yourself. The extracted text is not stored by the developer, and the app works without this step: importing also works with on-device text extraction alone.
3.5 Data that is not collected
Career Toolkit does not request or collect your name, email address, phone number or contacts for the developer's own purposes, does not create accounts, does not request location permissions, does not record audio or video, and does not read your device's contact list, call log or SMS messages. This statement describes the app's behaviour; it is not a claim that no data of any kind is processed, because the advertising SDK described above does process device data.

4. Location Information
Career Toolkit does not request or collect location information. The app declares no location permission, so Android will never show you a location prompt for this app, and no feature reads your device's location.
The developer applies data minimisation to location: location is requested only where a feature genuinely requires it, and no feature in this app requires it. Specifically:
- Precise location is not requested and not collected. Where an app has a genuine need for location, approximate location should be used instead of precise location unless precise location is truly necessary — in this app neither is used.
- Background location is not requested and not collected. The app has no feature that operates on your location while it is closed or in the background.
- Location data is never sold, and none is available to sell, because none is collected.
One qualification, stated for accuracy: when an ad is requested, Google's advertising systems receive your IP address, and an approximate, region-level location can be inferred from an IP address. That inference is made by Google as part of serving advertising and is not device location data collected by this app. It is covered in Advertising.
5. Photos, Files and Media
Career Toolkit lets you add a profile photo to a resume, draw a signature, import an existing resume file, and export or back up your documents. Here is where each of those is processed.
Processed on your device
- Profile photos and signatures. An image you select through the Android photo picker, or a signature you draw, is copied into the app's private storage and rendered into your resume on the device. It is not uploaded.
- Document generation and export. PDFs, images and printable output are produced on the device by the app itself. They remain on the device unless you choose to share, print or save them elsewhere.
- Backup and restore. A backup is a file created on the device and placed where you choose. The developer never receives it.
- Resume file import — text extraction. When you pick a resume file to import, the text is extracted from it on the device.
Sent to a third-party API — only for optional AI import
If you use the optional AI import step, the extracted resume text is sent to the Google Gemini API to be organised into structured resume fields, and the structured result is returned to the app. The original file is never uploaded. Nothing else in the app sends your documents anywhere. If you would rather no text left the device, do not use the AI import step — file import still works with on-device extraction.
Files you pick are read through the Android system picker, which gives the app access only to the specific item you select. The app does not browse, index or scan your gallery or storage.

Permissions are requested only when a feature you are using needs them, and every permission below is optional — declining it disables only that feature.

Career Toolkit does not use accessibility services, does not request device administrator rights, does not install other applications, and does not run code downloaded at runtime. It does not interfere with other apps, the system UI, or your device settings.
7. How We Use Information
Information handled by the app is used for the following purposes only:
- App functionality. Storing, editing, previewing, exporting and backing up the resumes and documents you create.
- Your settings. Remembering your theme, language, template choices, checklist progress and reminder preference.
- Reminders. Scheduling the local daily reminder if you enable it.
- Optional AI import. Structuring the text of a resume file you chose to import.
- Advertising. Funding the app through ads served by Google, including ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping and fraud prevention.
Information is not used to build a profile of you for the developer, is not used for automated decision-making about you, and is not sold.

10. Advertising
Career Toolkit is free and is funded by advertising provided by Google AdMob. Ad formats used include app-open, banner, native, interstitial and rewarded ads.
When an ad is requested, Google and its advertising partners may process certain information from the device for the following purposes:
- selecting and delivering advertising;
- measuring ad performance and reporting;
- detecting and preventing fraud and abuse;
- limiting how often the same ad is shown to you (frequency management);
- serving either personalised or non-personalised advertising, depending on the configuration and on the consent choice you make.
The information involved can include your advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location inferred from that IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Consent
Where consent is legally required — including for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to present a consent form before advertising is requested. You can accept personalised advertising, choose non-personalised advertising, or decline. Your choice can be changed at any time from the privacy options entry in the app's Settings. The app's features remain usable regardless of the choice you make.
Rewarded ads
Some optional designs and tools can be unlocked by choosing to watch a rewarded ad. Watching one is always started by you and is never required to use the app's core features.
This policy describes Google's advertising practices only to the extent Google documents them publicly; it does not represent Google's own disclosures, and Google's linked policies are authoritative on what Google does with data it receives.
11. Data Security
Your documents are held in storage that Android keeps private to this app, protected by the operating system's application sandbox and by the device encryption and screen lock you have configured. Because the app keeps your documents on the device rather than on a server, there is no developer-held database of user documents that could be breached.
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are applied to the information the app handles, and connections made by the third-party services described above are encrypted in transit. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, however, and absolute security cannot be promised.
You can strengthen the protection of your data by enabling a device screen lock, keeping Android and the app updated, and being careful about where you save or share exported files and backups.
12. Data Retention
- Documents and settings on your device are retained for as long as the app is installed and you keep them. There is no automatic expiry. They are removed when you delete them in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
- Exported files and backups remain wherever you saved or shared them and are under your control. Removing the app does not remove copies you have placed elsewhere.
- Server-side information held by the developer: none. The developer operates no backend service and stores no user data, so there is nothing retained on the developer's side.
- Advertising data received by Google is retained according to Google's own retention practices, described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- Optional AI import: the extracted text is sent for processing and the structured result is returned to the app. The developer does not store the text. Google's handling and retention of API requests are governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.
13. Data Deletion
Because Career Toolkit has no accounts and the developer holds no server-side personal data, there is normally no account data to request deletion of. Deletion is something you can carry out directly and completely:
- Delete individual items — remove a resume, document, photo or signature inside the app.
- Delete everything at once — open Android Settings → Apps → Career Toolkit → Storage and choose Clear storage / Clear data. This permanently removes the app's database, preferences and stored images.
- Uninstall the app — this removes all app-private data from the device.
- Delete exported files and backups yourself from wherever you saved them.
- Advertising data — reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and use Google My Ad Center for the data Google holds.
If you have a deletion question that the steps above do not cover, write to balodiyaapps@gmail.com and it will be answered. Please note that the developer cannot delete data from your device on your behalf and cannot delete data held by Google.
14. Children's Privacy
Career Toolkit is designed for people preparing resumes and job applications. It is not directed to children, and its Google Play target audience is set accordingly. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Where advertising consent applies, Google's age-appropriate advertising settings are used as configured in the AdMob console. If you believe a child has provided information through this app that should be removed, contact balodiyaapps@gmail.com — noting that data created in the app is stored on the device and can be removed using the steps in Data Deletion.
This section describes the app's approach to children's data. It is not a claim of certification under any specific children's privacy programme.
15. User Controls
You remain in control of what the app can do:
- Decline optional permissions. Every permission the app requests is optional; declining one disables only the related feature.
- Revoke permissions later in Android Settings → Apps → Career Toolkit → Permissions.
- Turn reminders off in the app's Settings at any time.
- Skip the optional AI import if you prefer that no resume text is sent for processing.
- Change your advertising consent choice from the privacy options entry in the app's Settings, where the consent form applies to you.
- Control advertising at the device level — reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Delete locally stored content using any of the methods in Data Deletion.
- Stop using the app and uninstall it, which removes its data from your device.
16. International Users
The app can be used anywhere Google Play distributes it. The documents you create stay on your device wherever you are.
The third-party service providers described in this policy operate globally, and information they receive may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including countries whose data protection laws differ from those where you live. That processing is carried out by those providers in accordance with their own privacy policies and the safeguards they apply under applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights in relation to personal data, such as rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection. For data created in the app, you can exercise these yourself on the device. For data processed by Google in connection with advertising, use Google's own tools, including My Ad Center, and Google's privacy policy. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Nothing in this policy is a guarantee of a particular legal outcome in any jurisdiction.
17. Policy Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the app's features or data practices change, or when a legal requirement changes. When that happens, the revised policy is published at this URL and the "Last updated" date below is changed. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
Continuing to use Career Toolkit after an update is published means you accept the revised policy. Please review this page from time to time.
